Playtech Releases Italian Blackjack Live Dealer Game

One of the best new online casino games that I can recommend keeping an eye out for in July 2020 is a live dealer casino game from Playtech. The new Sette e Mezzo (which means Seven and a Half in Italian) live dealer game is often compared to Blackjack with its similar rules, but it uses a completely new deck of cards with symbols that many of you will not be familiar with. In other words, this new live dealer game may take some of you a few minutes of watching or a few hands of playing to get used to.

It’s only available in the real money mode, which is the case with almost all live dealer casino games today, but the good news is that you can play from as little as $/€/£1.00 per hand (which is approx. R20). High rollers are permitted to spend up to as much as $/€/£2,500 (approx. R52,000) per hand/round. Side bets are available in this game, and one of the things that I like about these side bets is that they can even payout on a non-winning hand. We’ll take a look at the side bet options further down.

Let’s start with the basics. The aim of this game is to try and beat the dealer by reaching as close to 7½ points as possible without going bust. Individual card values range from 0.5 points up to 7 points. Each deck contains a total of 40 cards, and they include the Jack (Fante), Cavalier (Cavallo) and King (Re), which are all worth ½ point, as well as the Ace, which is worth 1 point, and the number cards 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, which are all worth their face value in points.

There’s also the King of Coins card, which acts as a Wild Card, and the aim of this card when it appears in your hand is to try and bring your total hand value as close to 7½ points as possible. Rather than the standard suits, you have Coins (Denari), Cups (Coppe), Swords (Spade) and Clubs (Bastoni). The dealer draws up to 5, and the player draws up to 7½. Players will automatically keep on drawing until the dealer’s first face-up card has been beaten.

If you beat the dealer with a two-card winning hand that contains a King of Coins card, you’ll receive a 3:2 payout, but if you beat the dealer’s score with any other hand, it pays 1:1. It sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is, so don’t let these rules put you off playing because it really is a great game once you get used to it. Don’t forget that the dealer draws up to 5, and the player draws up to 7½. You will lose your main bet when tying on 5 points, whereas a tie pushes on 5½ points and above.

The two main side bets that I mentioned above are Partita Perfetta, and Mano di Poker. Partita Perfetta pays out when yours and the dealer’s first cards create a pair of the same value. In other words, a pair of 1’s to 6’s pays 5:1. A pair of face cards pays 10:1, and a pair of 7’s pays 55:1. The Mano di Poker side bet pays out when your first two cards and the dealer’s first card form a specific winning poker hand combination. In other words, a Straight pays 5:1. A Flush pays 6:1. Three of a Kind pays 50:1. A Straight Flush pays 75:1, and a Royal Flush pays 150:1.

If you’re looking for a refreshing new live dealer game, and if you’re a fan of Live Blackjack, then you have to check out the new Live Sette e Mezze game when you next play at Casin.com or Mansion Casino. It’s available on desktop and mobile, and it can be launched either instantly in your web browser or from within the perfectly secure Playtech casino download client.
